Greg Ross gave Dunfermline their first league win of the season with a late winner.

Ross struck with just 14 minutes left to cap a great fight-back from the Pars, yet he was fortunate to be playing. He was not listed in the starting 11, but he replaced Darren Young who was injured before kick-off.

The home side did not take long to get into their stride after the midweek cup win at Kilmarnock, and Derek Young should have scored after four minutes but lofted his shot over from 10 yards.

Dundee's David Fernandez turned Andy Tod rather too easily 30 yards from goal, but his final shot sailed high over the top.

Ten minutes from the break the Spanish striker wriggled clear of three defenders, but the angle was too tight and he sent his shot over the crossbar.

Four minutes later, Fernandez sent Barry Robson clear and he cut inside before unleashing a terrific shot which Allan McGregor did well to beat away.

Dunfermline did not heed the warning and fell behind four minutes from the break. Robson sent in a wickedly-curling free-kick, and Dave McCracken headed home with McGregor getting a hand to it but failing to keep it out.

McGregor made another great save to deny Lee Miller early in the second half after another superb free-kick from Robson.

Dunfermline hit back and Liam Horsted robbed Mark Wilson but sent his right-foot shot narrowly wide before he beat Wilson again moments later only for his low shot to be well taken by Derek Stillie.

But Andy Tod beat the goalkeeper after 59 minutes when he firmly headed in a Lee Makel corner.

Ross then put Dunfermline in front when substitute Noel Hunt cut the ball back for him to tuck the ball home from 10 yards.
