The Pars thrashed a poor Dundee United side 4-1 as the Dundee boys were swept aside by a black and white hurricane.

Ex-United cup-winning hero, Craig Brewster's double and a goal a piece by Scott Walker and Barry Nicholson were answered by Jim McIntyre's solitary score.

BrewsterÂ’s fourth minute strike started the storm as United surrendered to the onslaught with little resistance. Nicholson's pinpoint cross took out the Terrors' defence and the big striker stretched to despatch the ball home from five yards.

His second came in the 37th minute courtesy of a soft penalty award by referee Kevin Toner who adjudged Mark Wilson to have downed Scott Walker inside the area.

Walker himself got his name on the scoresheet to increase the Pars lead to three when he headed home from six yards on a tight angle after meeting Sean Kilgannon's right-wing free-kick unguarded at the back post.

UnitedÂ’s defensive frailties were cruelly exposed for a fourth time by ex-Ranger, Nicholson when his 25-yard shot was deflected beyond the exposed United keeper, Paul Gallacher, off the back of defender Wilson.

The Taysiders' single response came with just under half an hour to go.

Their best player on the night, midfielder McIntyre, strode on to Steven Thompson's defence splitting pass to strike the ball first time beyond the outstretched arms of Derek Stillie.

In truth, even this one goal flattered the flattened Dundee side who faced cat calls from their few remaining fans at the end of what was, in manager Paul Hegarty's opinion, their worst display of the season so far
