We've Got Rangers, Hearts and The Pars First but…

Make no mistake – Rangers, Hearts and Dunfermline are important games for us. We got a draw AND a victory against Rangers last season, scoring 6 goals against them over the season. We beat Hearts too last season – so no-one should be approaching these games as certain defeats, as seems to be the case. We can get results against these teams.

However, although there are three games in between, the Derby is already the main talking point for football fans in Dundee – with the old chestnut of boycotts high on the agenda.

Many Arabs are talking about staying away - and who can blame them? Many Dees stay away from Tannadice due to the reasoning of ‘our club needs the money more’, a sentiment I can understand. However, this has backfired big-time, as now Arabs stay away from Dens in retaliation, and so it goes…. I can’t see any end to it myself, and it has to be said that the (un)official boycott by Dee4Life last season, which resulted in them initially booking Fat Sam’s Nightclub on derby day, has a lot to answer for, and I’m surely not the only one who thinks that their foolish and ill-thought-out actions will one day backfire?

Tickets prices don’t help either, with adults priced @ £22, concessions @ £12.

I hope plenty of Arabs go, and I’ll be going myself, but I suspect many will stay away, which is a shame.
