Dundee Make Official Request To Play At Tannadice

Dundee FC have approached United and the SPL to play their fixtures at Tannadice next season. However, the DFC Official website still insists it is merely a measure to ‘keep their options open’.

Obviously the United board, club, players and fans of Dundee United have every right to consider their best interests first, and that appears to be the general output from Tannadice, so it looks like it may actually happen! Only the fans, of both clubs, seem vehemently opposed.

Looking at it from our point of view - this will mean no more derbies at Dens. Also, we won the league and two cups there, so if it goes, it will be long in the hearts of both sets of fans.

A further blow to the Dee morale was dealt when it was revealed that the site of Dens Park may be contaminated land, and therefore cost of making it safe would eat any profit from its sale.

Bizarre times indeed! The game tomorrow is a big game for United, and hopefully the above ‘drama’ will have aroused a bit of interest in going to Firhill. Plenty to talk about anyway!!

As usual, the best place to pick up a line of whats going on is at the messageboard, though second best to the game of course.

I hope the week’s goings-on haven’t put United off their stride, and that we give Thistle a good drubbing tomorrow. Our goalscoring record is not brilliant, though some are improving, with Jim McIntyre a big fans’ favourite. Though to my eternal shame, I missed him off the front page poll. Sorry JM – had to do it in a hurry!

Good luck tomorrow to United.
