Jim McLean signs for the Arabs

In a move to show his support for the supporter’s organisation, ArabTRUST, Jim McLean has personally signed 100 framed prints of the Sporting Post.

The cover story of the Sporting Post on 14th May 1983, was that of United winning the League. It was reproduced and given away by United fanzine The Final Hurdle, in 1993, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the success.

Following the passing of the much loved Neil Glen, an ArabTRUST member and United man through and through, Neil’s Dundee United Memorabilia was passed to the Trust to use for Fundraising. Amongst these items, were 100 pristine copies of the souvenir poster.

The Trust contacted Jim Mclean, who was delighted to sign the prints, which have now been framed, and go on sale this Saturday exclusively at the Trust’s shop in the lower George Fox Stand at Tannadice. The prints will also be available through Groucho’s Disc & Tape Exchange on the Nethergate in Dundee.

This unique souvenir of that glorious day in may will cost £25, with every penny will go to ArabTRUST in its quest to become the second largest shareholder in the club.

It is very fitting that Neil is still helping the Trust and at the same time helping his beloved Dundee United. ArabTRUST’s Board recently dedicated its National Award from Supporters Direct to the memory of their former Chairman.
