ArabTRUST are pleased to announced today that the funds raised at the Dundee derby, by way of donation, were in excess of £3,000.

In addition, ArabTRUST have indicated that all funds raised on Sunday 11th will be handed over to Dundee United, in return for shares in the club.

Neil Glen, Chairman of the Dundee United Supporters’ Society, confirmed that the sum raised by the collection organised by ArabTRUST and the Federation of Supporters’ Clubs will be directly donated to the Club.

“The Funds raised are over the £3,000 mark, and will be transferred to Dundee United in exchange for shares in the club, in accordance with discussions with the Board of Directors prior to the collection. We hope to have completed the transfer by the end of next week, and will announce the amount of shares purchased”, he said.

“Effectively, all monies donated by Arabs will result in United fans being granted a larger shareholding in the club. All ArabTRUST collectively own these shares, so there more benefit for fans to sign up to become an ArabTRUST member, as this is the opportunity for the fans to collectively share in the ownership of the Club.”

Mr Glen closed by thanking all the fans who contributed in the collection, “We would like to thank everyone who donated before the match and the people who have donated since the match. The collection has also led to a surge in new memberships, so a big thank you to everyone involved”
