United Stars Impress In Scotland ‘B' Game

A behind-closed-doors friendly between a Scotland ‘B' XI and Dundee United was held at Stirling Albion's Forthbank Stadium last night, with the internationals coasting to a 2-0 victory with goals from Paul Dalglish, and West Brom's Scott Dobie.

Charlie Miller and Craig Easton were in impressive form for United, and dominated the midfield for long spells, a feat which will not have gone unnoticed by Bertie Vogts. In goal for United was the young Gallacher, who also made some impressive saves, despite being beaten after only nine minutes with a sweet lob from Paul Dalglish.


Vogts was reported as saying the between four and six of the players on show may make the summer tournament in Hong Kong.

Scotland XI: Combe (Langfield 45), Murray (Alexander 45), Caldwell (Lauchlan 45), Wilkie, Cummings, Anderson (Severin 45), Rae, Kerr (McAnespie 45), Kyle (Liddell 45), McFadden, Dalglish (Dobie 45).
Dundee United: Gallacher, Duff, Aljofree, Venetis (O'Donnell 60), Griffin, McCracken, Easton, Miller, McConalogue (Davidson 68), Winters (McIntyre 56), Paterson. Subs not used: Jarvie, Crason, Ogunmade.
