The Rangers and Scotland under-21 international has decided to stay at Rangers and fight for a first team place under new manager Alex McLeish. Malcolm fell out of favour with ex-boss Dick Advocat after playing a friendly six-a-side tournament without the club's permission, and has not featured in a starting line-up since. United boss Alex Smith is still hopeful of makling new signings in the near future, and is rumoured to be looking at Eoin Jess of Bradford City, and several defenders.

Sean O'Connor has been recalled from loan at Morton, allegedly due to injuries at Tannadice, but it now appears that O'Connor is to be sold to Queen of the South, a move which has angered Morton fans, as they feel they needed O'Connor in their current relegation battle.
