Blackburn Rovers approach Hibs over Lewis Miller

Last Updated : 04-Aug-2025 by Steve Forbes

It looks like Hibs defender Lewis Miller may have played his last game for the club.

According to numerous reports the Hibees are locked in discussions with English side Blackburn Rovers over the transfer of the former Central Coast Mariners player.

Depending what report you read, the Lancashire side have already tabled a bid for the 24-year-old but no agreement has been reached.

It was first reported that the Ewood Park club had offerered £750,000 up-front, and that with add-ons it could rise to £1.5m

Another report has suggested that Miller was down in England for talks after a bid of around £1m had been accepted.

However, it now seems that no agreement has been reached and that the Hibs hierarchy are looking for closer to £1.5m with add-ons, with talks still on-going.

Miller joined the Hibees in 2022 from Macarthur FC, after they bought out their pre-contract agreement that the player had in place to leave the Mariners.

He started his Easter Road career quite slowly, but has come on leaps and bounds in the last year, that has seen a number of suitors appear from down south.

Blackburn are said to be about to sell Callum Brittain to Middlesbrough for a reported £4m, so will have the cash to meet Hibs valuation.

It's expected a deal will be done in the coming days.

Miller has played 85 times and scored 5 goals for the men in green and white.

HIBERNIAN-MAD VIEW

It will be tough to see Lewis leave the club, but with the money on offer south of the border you can't blame him.

It looks like the club will pocket a good profit, for a player who only has a year left on his deal, that they could invest in an already exciting looking squad.

It could be an interesting few days in Leith.
