UNITED STILL BOTTOM AFTER BATTLING DISPLAY

Last updated : 20 March 2005 By United Mad

No one expected us to win yesterday. No one expected us to come close either, and if it wasn’t for a wonder-save by big Rab Douglas in the Celtic goal right at the death, United might have nicked a point.

So what are the positives?

Well. We played well for a start. We showed the right attitude and appeared to have a fire in our bellies. We hustled and harried Celtic, and we played some pleasing and intelligent passing football. We scored twice, and by only losing by the odd goal, we kept our superior goal difference intact, which may prove vital later in the season.

The main thing though was that we showed the correct attitude – positive!

We now have Hibs away, and Rangers away, followed by a home game at Hearts which takes us to the split. We will need to be at our best to take points from these games.

Oh, and we have the small matter of a Scottish Cup semi amongst all this too!!
