“Dundee United has taken the unusual and unprecedented step of drastically reducing the available capacity for Aberdeen fans at this Saturday’s game, in order to satisfy the anticipated increased demand from United fans to see the return of Craig Brewster as player/manager.

“With Craig Brewster now registered as a Dundee United player there is every chance that he will make an appearance on the pitch, as well as trackside, and the Club is being inundated with enquires from United fans. One supporters’ club in London, for example, has already made its travel arrangements and some enquiries have come from overseas. In view of this and with the full agreement of the police, Aberdeen will have their usual total seating capacity reduced by over 2000.

“Dundee United fans will now be allocated the Shed and will therefore have three sides of the stadium. The Shed will be strictly for cash paying customers only and, to comply with safety advice, entrance will be from the Sandeman Street turnstiles only.”

In other news…

Dave Bowman had a meeting with United chairman Eddie Thompson and settled any differences that might have arisen during Brewster’s inauguration and Bowman’s consequent departure.

It was an unfortunate episode, and both agreed that ‘these things are an unfortunate part of the game’, with Thompson welcoming the former Tangerine legend to Tannadice anytime as an ‘honoured guest’.

We at United Mad are glad that two United greats (past and present) have smoothed things over.
