Dundee United manager Craig Brewster will next week travel to Largs to complete his ‘A' licence qualification.

The manager sees this trip as an opportunity to increase his fitness levels whilst completing the course and feels the work he will put in whilst doing the course will aid his return to action come pre season.

Speaking to the Evening Telegraph, Craig said today ‘My leg wasn't right and I've been resting it, but it is feeling a lot better and the running around while I am doing my ‘A' Licence next week should definitely help ease me back in,'

The manager injured his foot in his first appearance back in United colours in the home match against Aberdeen back in January. A big feature of this match was the reception given to the Manager as he made his way onto the field that day and United fans showed just how keen they are to see him continue playing. It was later discovered that the bone had not knitted correctly and a longer than anticipated spell out was to follow.

He has already stressed his desire to continue playing on next season. Although he will be over 40 years old, there is still no doubt that he will play a vital part in the United first team next season.

In the last few days, two of the five players told to look elsewhere for heir future football have been blocked in their attempts to join other clubs. Yesterday saw Gretna reveal they would not be following up the interest in Grant Brebner and today has saw Kilmarnock state that David Fernandez wage demands were way out of their league.

The United chairman Eddie Thompson is still confident that all 5 will be gone by the start of the transfer window.
