DUNDEE FC RELEGATED FROM SPL

Dundee FC today exited the SPL in a shock turnaround of form which has seen them plummet from a relatively safe nine points clear with only six games to go, to bottom, 12th, and the SFL next season. They had lost four out of five games going into today’s, and they needed to beat Livingston to avoid the drop.

United won their game at ICT 1-0 thanks to a Barry Robson penalty on 82 minutes. Robson was later sent of for a second yellow, but the result meant little to United, as far as relegation was concerned, as news came through from Almondvale that Livi had drawn and sent Dundee down, although the late winner means that united move up the league a couple of places, and earn themselves an extra £100k or so in the process – all in all a very happy day for United.

United can now concentrate on the Cup Final and the future trips to Europe
