Aberdeen preview by Wishae Arab

Well here we are; it’s almost December and we still haven’t won a home SPL fixture yet, a fact which goes a long way to explaining our lowly league position. Too many times this season we have either squandered a lead, or more often given ourselves an uphill task by going one or two goals behind.

Last week was a case in point, but to look on the bright side of life it is my opinion that had Alex Smith still been the manager we would have gone on to lose the derby by a Dense Park massacre margin.

Hegarty is in the papers, and quite rightly so, calling for a repeat of last week’s second half form in the WHOLE of Saturday’s match, and if the players respond I really see no reason why we shouldn’t beat Aberdeen and in the process start our march up the table.

If, and I appreciate it’s still a big if, we are to progress into the top six then home wins are an absolute MUST against teams at the bottom end of the league table.

Gallacher remains a doubt for the game, having only just returned to training, but should Hegarty be forced to leave out the international star then I don’t think that will be the only change from last week’s team, with McCunnie’s form having been poor of late. Surely Duff will get a start in preference to a player who looks distinctly jaded and out of form.

I still fancy the 3-5-2 formation, as Aberdeen won’t play with three up front away from home, so I reckon Duff for McCunnie might be the only change in the lineup, unless Combe makes a come back of course!

Predictions? Well I’ve got just about every one wrong so far this season so I hope my luck changes with my suggestion of a 3-0 win for the Tangerines!
