Morning...

Woke up this morning (as several great Delta Bluesmen have done before me) and pondered on how amazing it is to have so many fond memories of United’s European campaigns of years gone by and how I’d like my young nephews toexperience similar.

As much as the goalposts have changed in football (almost beyond recognition in terms of finances and players loyalty etc) how blinding would it be to see our last few years of steady development rewarded with a wee Euro beano or, even better, a shiny piece of hard-won silverware?

Despite having the injury-list from hell, Houstie has built on the early promise of this season and, failing major collapse (or the final-hurdle hoodoo), we could be looking at dusting down the passports for late July....though nothing's taken for granted as years of expectation and disappointment have taught us! That said, a win on Saturday at Pittodrie is imperative….we can’t let the impending replay against Dougie Macdonald’s chosen 11 distract the team from league business.

Deal with every remaining game as it comes and maybe, just maybe, we might find ourselves celebrating something over and above a top 6 finish come season’s end. The rollercoaster ride has always been what makes being an Arab so fecking wonderful.

Enjoy the ride…
